Darian Curbelo, 26, was stopped by Martin County Sheriff’s deputies after driving the wrong way on Interstate 95 Wednesday morning, WPTV reports.

Dashcam video shows the deputies intercepting Curbelo driving northbound in the southbound lanes of the interstate.

Martin County Sheriff’s officials said they had to box Curbelo onto the shoulder after attempting an escape at a rest stop.

Authorities were afraid he might hurt or kill someone and multiple deputy’s vehicles were used to apprehend the driver.

Curbelo’s blood-alcohol level was three times over the legal limit to drive and he was arrested and charged with fleeing and eluding, reckless driving, and driving under the influence.
