(DELAND, FL)– Florida Highway Patrol is searching for the driver of a pickup truck who fled the scene of a crash that killed three people and injured several others.
The incident occurred around 2:20 a.m. on Dec. 11.
Officials say the suspect was driving Toyota Tacoma westbound in the eastbound lane of a highway when he crashed into an Infiniti Q50.
The collision caused the Infiniti to crash into the center median where the driver and their two passengers died.
The Toyota reportedly came to a stop in the eastbound lane, where it was struck by another vehicle.
The driver of the Toyota then “crawled” out of the vehicle and ran into a wooded area.
Authorities say one other person was in the Toyota at the time and suffered major injuries.
The driver of the vehicle that struck the Toyota and the driver of a fourth vehicle that struck the debris, suffered minor injuries.
Authorities are still searching for the driver of the Toyota.
He has since been identified, however, his name has not been made public.
The names of the victim have also not been publicly released.
