One person is in custody after they reportedly fled from a traffic stop, intentionally struck a motorcycle deputy, and threw a snake at another deputy.
The incident occurred Wednesday afternoon near Warfield Blvd, in Martin County, Florida.
The Martin County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle, but instead of stopping, the driver intentionally struck the deputy’s vehicle and continued driving.
Other deputies then pursued the vehicle.
The pursuit eventually ended when the female driver hit another patrol car and a civilian truck with three people inside.
When a deputy approached the vehicle, the woman threw a snake at the deputy.
Four people were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
As of noon today, authorities were still at the scene gathering evidence.
This is a developing story.
