Woman stabbed in the goin while trying to reel in a sailfish

STUART, FL– A tourist who went fishing in Stuart is recovering in the hospital after she was stabbed by a sailfish while trying to reel it in.
The incident occurred on Tuesday morning near Sandsprit Park.
Authorities say the victim, a 73-year-old from Maryland was in the process of reeling in the fish when it suddenly charged the boat, jumped out of the water, and stabbed her in the groin area.
The woman was flown to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Two other people who were on the boat at the time say the fish might have weighed 100 pounds.
