A 21-year-old woman has been arrested after she allegedly shot the owner of a nail salon because she was unhappy with the prices.
The incident was reported on May 29th in Texas.
Officials say Joana Vara and her 20-year-old sister went to Katy Nails for a manicure and pedicure. After receiving the services, the suspect then began arguing with the owner of the salon over the prices.
Joana eventually left the salon while her sister continued to argue over the prices. She then returned a short time later and tried to reenter the store. The owner of the salon attempted to push the women out of the store and that’s when Joana opened fire on him.
Both women then fled the scene.
The owner was airlifted to an area hospital where he said to be in critical but stable condition.
Authorities were able to identify the women because Joana left her phone inside the salon as she fled.
Joana was charged on Thursday with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Her bond has been set at $60,000.
Joana’s sister was arrested for evading police, but was not charged in connection with the shooting.
