A Las Vegas woman is currently facing hate crime charges after she allegedly punched a 6-year-old Asian boy and then went on an anti- Asian rant.

The incident was reported on July 5th inside the Shops at Crystals.

The child’s mother told police that she and her family were walking out of the mall and headed onto a walkway when the suspect, Shelly Hill, allegedly punched the 6-year-old child in the back of the neck.  That’s when the child’s father placed the child firmly behind him and told Hill, “I’m going to kill you, you racist b*tch!”

Hill then quickly began walking away while shouting anti- Asian language at the family. The child’s mother then handed her husband their 2.5- year-old daughter and chased Hill down.

Hill eventually turned around and began yelling at the mother again and that’s when the mother pulled out her phone and began recording.

“You can see security approaching in the video, but there was also security coming up from behind me. In that instance, I knew it was better to get a video of her face as evidence versus opting for violence, since security was already in the picture,” the mother told NextShark.

I hope the cops picked her up. Mall security just let her go. Yes, we are pressing charges. #crystalsmall #arialasvegas #fyp #assault

While the mother only began recording the incident after chasing the woman down, authorities say the mall’s surveillance tape was instrumental in helping to determined what happened and who the woman was.

Hill has been charged with battery and a hate crime. She is being held on a $3,000 bail.
