(HIALEAH, FLA) – A south Florida woman named after the late singer Tupac is accused of attacking a man outside of a hospital.
Tupac Amaru Shakur, 34, was arrested Tuesday evening after assaulting a man with a baseball bat while he sat on a bench outside a Hialeah Hospital Wednesday morning, according to authorities.
The police report states Shakur battered the man ‘several times,’ inflicting injuries to the ‘right side of his face, hand, leg, upper lip, and right forearm.’
Before the Hialeah criminal could strike again, the man snatched her bat and ran inside the hospital for help.
Shakur went through the entrance and claimed the man attacked her with the bat.
According to reports, Tupac is a homeless woman well known for causing frequent commotion at the hospital.
Police were able to locate Shakur using surveillance footage, and was arrested with no incident.
The woman told authorities she was “investigating an incident that occurred at the library in downtown.”
Shakur is currently held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, and faces a charge of aggravated battery.
Coincidentally, Wednesday marked the 26th anniversary of when the singer Tupac Amaru Shakur was shot by an unknown suspect Sep 7, 1996 in Las Vegas. The rapper passed away 6 days later.
