Investigators in Ohio are reporting that a 19-year-old woman who went missing in 2021 has been found dead under a pile of clothes.

The body of Audreona Barnes was discovered on March 17th by a cleaning person who was tasked with cleaning out an apartment after the renter was evicted on the 11th.

Authorities say the cleaning person found Barnes under a pile of clothes on the balcony.

The body was turned over to authorities who later determined the body belonged to Barnes.

Barnes’ mother reported her missing in July of 2021 after she failed to return home or make contact with her after she said that she was going to visit her boyfriend.

Her mother says she knew something was wrong because her daughter did not take anything with her and her phone was turned off the same day she went missing.

“Her phone has been turned off since then. And this is very much unlike her,” she said. “She doesn’t have anything. Her shoes are at home. All of her clothes are at home. She had no money so where did she go?”

Authorities are now searching for a suspect and trying to determine her cause and date of death.
