A Fresno woman has been arrested after leading police on a six-mile chase — with a 3-year-old girl in her lap the entire time. Raquel Gonzalez, 27, was charged with DUI and child endangerment following the incident, which began at 2 a.m. Saturday, authorities say. When a sheriff’s deputy observed Gonzalez driving erratically, he attempted to pull her over — but instead she sped up and led him on a chase that ended at her home. When she got out of her vehicle, she was holding her niece, the deputy reports. There was no child seat in the car, he says. The 3-year-old is now in the custody of Child Protective Services. If you saw an unrestrained child in someone else’s car, would you report it? How have child safety rules changed since you were a kid?
