NASHVILLE, TN–
A woman has been murder charges after an inmate died moments after she smuggled drugs to him during a kiss.
The incident occurred in February at the Turney Center Industrial Complex.
The Tennessee Department of Correction reported that during a visit with Joshua Brown, Rachal Dollard passed a balloon pellet containing half an ounce of methamphetamine to him in a kiss.
Brown was said to have swallowed the pellet and needed to be taken to a local hospital. Brown later died of an overdose at the hospital.
After checking the security camera, authorities say they noticed Dollard pass the drugs to Brown.
Dollard was taken into custody over the weekend for second-degree murder and the introduction of contraband into a penal facility.
She is being held in the Hickman County jail.
Police say Brown was serving an 11-year sentence on drug-related charges and was set to be released in 2029.
