(LAKE COUNTY, FLA) — A woman faces charges in relation to the deaths of an elderly married couple at a Mount Dora retirement community on New Year’s Eve.
Vickie Williams, 50, faces two counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of Darryl Getman, 83, and Shannon Getman, 80. She also faces a charge of grand theft of a motor vehicle for allegedly stealing the victim’s car, according to KBTX.
Williams was given no bond and ordered to be held in the Lake County Jail. She appeared in court via Zoom on Saturday.
At around 4 p.m. Dec. 31, the retired couple was found dead in their apartment at the Waterman Village senior living complex in Mount Dora, Florida, according to authorities.
Deputies tracked the couple’s stolen Kia approximately 280 miles north in Savannah, Georgia, with Williams behind the wheel.
Police have yet to disclose information on how the Getmans died.
Williams is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 30.
