MARATHON, FL–

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that they arrested a woman who shot another woman with a bb gun because she did not have any drugs. 

The incident occurred around 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in the 4500 block of the Overseas Highway.

Deputies say the victim went to the area to hand out food and water to the homeless, when she was approached by 59-year-old Zoe Sparrow. 

Sparrow reportedly turned down the food and asked the woman if she had any drugs. When the woman informed Sparrow that ” if she wanted drugs, she would have to contact someone else,” Sparrow picked up a BB gun and demanded the woman leave.

When the woman didn’t immediately leave the area Sparrow shot her three times in the arm and one time in the thigh.

Sparrow has since been taken into custody. She faces a felony charge of aggravated battery.
