Authorities in Shakopee, Minnesota have arrested a man who allegedly beheaded his long term girl in broad daylight before fleeing the scene.
Officials say they were called to the intersection of Fourth Avenue and Spencer Street around 2:00 p.m. due to the report of a stabbing.
When they arrived to the area, they found the body of 55-year-old America Mafalda Thayer next to a vehicle. Authorities say Thayer’s head was completely separated from her body.
Authorities also reported that they found a large knife in a nearby yard and another knife in a trash can in an alley nearby.
After identifying the victim and speaking with those who knew Thayer, authorities arrested Thayer’s long time boyfriend Alexis Saborit.
According to witness reports, Saborit had a history of domestic abuse with the victim.
He is being held in the Scott County Jail on second-degree murder charges.
