(MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL)– A 25-year-old woman is facing several charges after she attacked an airline employee after requesting help finding her children.
The incident occurred Tuesday morning at an American Airlines gate at the Miami International Airport.
Officials say Camila McMillie of Birmingham, Alabama went to an American Airlines counter to check-in after missing her connecting flight.
While at the counter, she noticed that her two children, ages six and eight were no longer with her.
McMillie requested help finding her children and then became “irate.”

“While the subject was with the gate agent, her two minor children walked away without notice to use nearby restrooms. Once the subject noticed the children were not with her, she became irate and began to scream, demanding the gate agent to find her children,” police said.

Authorities say McMillie took the boarding pass reader and a computer monitor off of the counter and threw it at one of the airline’s agents.
She was then detained by a U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer before being released into police custody.

McMillie was in a bond court on Wednesday. She is facing charges of aggravated battery, criminal mischief, and disorderly conduct.
The airline employee suffered a bruise to her right shoulder.
