Will Ryan, Disney voice actor, dies at 72


William Frank Ryan was an American voice actor, singer and musician.

He provided the voice of Petrie in the 1988 animated film The Land Before Time. He was also known for his voice work as Eugene Meltsner in the Christian radio drama Adventures in Odyssey and Grubby in The Adventures of Teddy Ruxpin.

Ryan, the veteran voice artist who voiced several Disney projects, sadly passed away after his battle with cancer.

Ryan’s death was confirmed to the Hollywood reporter by his agent, Nery Lemus.

“The world is less bright tonight after the passing of Will Ryan” wrote Lemus in a statement.

He passed away on Nov 19 at the age of 72.

Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Ryan began his career in entertainment singing about the American West.

He went on to have a long career with Disney and other animation companies voicing several well-known characters.

Ryan is survived by his wife, Niparko Ryan, and his three siblings Patty Ryan, Marsha Ryan Russo and George Ryan.
