Vice President Mike Pence will reportedly attend the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden after President Donald Trump issued a statement that he will not attend.
But, will Pence be attended the ceremony on January 20th as the sitting President of the United States or as the Vice President?
The House will take the first steps to try to get President Trump removed from office after last week’s violence on Capitol Hill.
Speaker Nancy Pelosi says a resolution will be introduced that calls on Vice President Pence to activate the 25th Amendment.
Pelosi says if Pence doesn’t respond within a day of the resolution passing, they will move forward with bringing one article of impeachment to the House floor.
If Trump is successfully removed from office, then Mike Pence will be sworn in at the 46th President of the United States and will serve for the remaining few days of Trump’s term.
Stay tuned.
