The Broward Sheriff’s Office is reporting that Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School and it’s neighboring school Westglades Middle school were placed under a lockdown for several hours on Friday after someone made a prank about shots being fired at the middle school.
Officials searched both schools and determined that the threat was unfounded and allowed students to return to class.
It is unclear if authorities have identified who made the phone call or if any arrest have been made.
The prank comes just before the anniversary for the 2018 Valentines Day shooting where 17 people where killed at the school by a lone gunman.
