A West Palm Beach police officer dies of COVID-19, after a serious battle with the virus.
The department announced the death of Officer Anthony Testa on social media Saturday.
Testa began at the police department on Aug. 13, 2017.
He is survived by his wife Janine, 4-year-old-son and other family members.
Testa chose not to get vaccinated, according to West Palm Beach Police Assistant Chief Tameca West.
The 36-year-old officer had been hospitalized for several weeks and was placed on a ventilator.
Testa’s death is the second COVID related death in the department.
