(WEST PALM BEACH, Florida)– Students and staff of Golden Grove Elementary celebrated their silver anniversary, the 25th year since its establishment, Wednesday.

The ceremony featured all 4 former principals and the current principal, revealing a 25-year-old time capsule with treasures from previous students.

The time capsule revealed what 1997 looked like for students of that time through class projects and keepsakes.

Linda Edgecomb, the current principal of the school, said, “A lot of the kids that are here, their parents have been here, some of their sisters, their brothers, their relatives, so a lot of them are super excited about the time capsule because some of their uncles have placed things in there when they were students here,”

Golden Grove Elementary will be filling a new time capsule, with students donating items that are reflective of 2022.

The capsule is scheduled to be opened in another 25 years when the school has reached its 50-year anniversary.
