(BROWARD COUNTY) — The sentencing trial of the Parkland shooter is still expected to begin later this month on July 18th. The state is gunning for the death penalty against Nik Cruz who confessed to killing 17 people at MSD High School in Parkland Valentine’s Day 2018.
But first, defense attorneys want certain key pieces of evidence thrown out in an effort to save their client’s life like Cruz’s use of swastikas, disturbing social media posts and internet searches for child porn.
The defense called that evidence inflammatory, prejudicial, and irrelevant to the case.
