With just over a month left of hurricane season, Wanda could still form in the middle of the Atlantic.

The nor’easter currently lashing in the Northeast United States is a possible candidate to become Wanda.

The National Hurricane Center says it has a 40 percent chance of transforming into a tropical or subtropical entity as it interacts with the warm waters of the Gulf Stream.

Whether Wanda forms will determine if 2020 and 2021 make history as the first back-to-back years to exhaust the list of Atlantic storm names.

If the storm develops maximum sustained winds of 40 mph or more, it will become a tropical or subtropical storm. receiving the name Wanda.
