
Walmart and DroneUp have announced that they are bringing drone delivery services to West Palm Beach.
Senior Vice President of Innovation and Automation, made the announcement on Tuesday via a statement on Walmart’s website.
Customers will be able to place their orders online and receive their items by air the same day for a $3.99 fee.
Florida is one of six states to have the feature.
Arizona, Arkansas, Texas, Utah and Virginia will also have hubs with a team of certified pilots, operating within FAA guidelines.
While the companies say that not all households will be eligible for the service, they will be able to deliver to four million house holds a year.
Deliveries which must be 10lbs and under, will take place between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.
According to the statement, Walmart expects to have 34 drone delivery hubs by the end of the year.
