Walgreens is considering removing tobacco products from their store in an effort to promote better health.

In an interview with CNBC last week the chain’s CEO Roz Brewer, reported that they are looking at changes for the stores going forward:

“…How do we really project a healthy-for-you profile when you enter our stores?” she said to CNBC. “Tobacco is one of those areas that’s under real scrutiny right now.”

Walgreens has long faced scrutiny from investigators and public health officials for their practice of selling tobacco products.

The chain recently scaled by their sales of tobacco-related merchandise and have also changed the selling age to 21 after the Food and Drug Administration alleged that they were selling to minors.
