U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris has tested positive for COVID-19 according to the White House.

She is reportedly suffering no symptoms and is currently quarantining.

White House staff say the Vice President has had no close contact with President Joe Biden or the First Lady.

Harris will be permitted to return to the White House once she tests negative for the virus.

Her office blames her recent travel schedule for the infection.
