Authorities in Virginia are asking those in St. Lucie County to remain vigilant after a murder suspect with ties to the area fled Pulaski County.

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s department says they are searching for 26-year-old Cory Steven Mangekian in connection to the murder of a 60-year-old and a separate burglary charge.

Officials say they discovered the body of  Sandra Lee Mangekian in her home Wednesday afternoon. Her car and firearm were reported missing from the scene.

Mangekian’s car was later located at another home where the suspect identified as Cory, was said to have abandoned the car before breaking into the home and stealing a 2013 Infiniti SUV.

Cory then fled the area once again.

Authorities say Mangekian has lived in St. Lucie County, New Hampshire and was listed as homeless in Texas for a short period of time.

Mangekian is considered armed and dangerous. If anyone recognizes him, they are advised not to approach him and to contact local authorities.
