VIDEO: Plane crash-lands onto California freeway

(RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA) —  A small plane crashed into a California highway Tuesday and burst into flames.

The fiery impact was caught on video just after 12:30 p.m., showing the plane hitting a truck with three people inside and leaving a stream of burning jet fuel.

The plane’s pilot and passenger were able to exit the plane safely and the people inside the truck luckily were unharmed, according to California Highway Patrol.

The plane was headed to Corona Municipal Airport to make an emergency landing after the pilot claimed the plane was experiencing engine failure, stated CHP Capt. Levi Miller.

The eastbound lane of 91 Freeway in Riverside County was briefly closed for authorities to clear away debris and investigate the cause of the crash.
