(CAPE CORAL, FL)– Newly released video shows a police officer jumping into a canal to save a woman who was trapped inside of a car. The incident occurred around 3 a.m. on Tuesday.

Police bodycam video shows Officer Kwesi Johnson arrive to the scene and jump into the canal without hesitation. 

He then breaks the driver’s side window and pulls the woman from her sinking vehicle.

While the woman was left shaken and concerned about her vehicle, authorities say she was not injured. 

The driver was the only one in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
