“607 Predator Hunters”, a group known for exposing and busting child predators, have lured a local TV anchor to meet with what he thought was an underage boy, through a gay dating app.
The video, recorded by the group at the scene, appears to show Zach Wheeler, an NBC affiliate for WETM-TV.
When the Predator Hunters confronted Wheeler towards his efforts, he insisted “I am extremely innocent because I drove 3 hours to talk to the kid, drive him back to his house, and convince him to stop using dating apps.”
Wheeler even went as far as to offering money and publicity to the group, stating that he can “get Predator Hunters on TV”. Wheeler argued that the group was engaging in “cancel culture” towards “gay and lesbian people”.
The group confronted Wheeler throughout the recording about the sexually explicit messages that he sent to the “15 year old”, which showed his true repulsive intentions.
After the video gained attraction on Youtube, WETM acknowledged that they were made aware of the incident with Wheeler, stating “The local group that posted the video claims that the employee engaged in inappropriate behavior. WETM management is looking into the questions raised by the video, and the employee will remain off the air until the situation is resolved. No charges have been filed in connection with the video.”
607 Predator Hunters describes their mission as “protecting their community while exposing child predators.”
