LAKE WORTH BEACH, Fla. — The U.S. Coast Guard rescued five men aboard a small, man-made raft Saturday off the coast of South Florida.

According to the Coast Guard, the men were found 2 miles southeast of the Lake Worth Inlet.

The Coast Guard said the men were at sea for 16 days since leaving Cuba.

Their conditions weren’t immediately known.

It was also not immediately known if the men would be returned to Cuba since they did not reach shore.
They failed to meet the “wet foot dry foot” policy that essentially says that anyone who emigrated from Cuba and entered the United States would be allowed to pursue residency a year later.
