Democratic canidate Shelia Cherfilus-McCormick has been declared the winner of Florida’s 20th Congressional District according to the Associated Press.

The polls have offically closed in South Florida.

Cherfilus-McCormick defeated Republican Jason Mariner. She’ll replace Democrat Alcee Hastings, who was the longest-serving member of Florida delegation before he died of pancreatic cancer.

Cherfilus-McCormick will have to battle it out in another primary in August if she wants full term.
