Update: OSHA begins investigation of worker falling death at West Palm condo

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration, OSHA for short, is beginning its investigation into the death of a female subcontractor on Saturday, WPTV reports.

They will be looking for any potential hazards in and around the luxury condo that may have caused the fatal 13-story fall.

The falling victim, Dolores Yamileth Martinez-Ponce, was a 23-year-old subcontractor working for Jovavesa Corp. installing floors in the building.

Condolences and support for her family have been pouring in from south Florida to Honduras. Martinez-Ponce leaves behind her son, who she brought to America to give him a better life.

OSHA has reported that deaths on construction sites aren’t uncommon. 5,333 workers died on the job in 2019, one in five were in construction.
