
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that one of the four Royal Palm Beach Community High School students struck by a driver while waiting for their bus has died.
The student identified only as a female, died of her injuries at 2:00 a.m. Wednesday according to police.
The crash occurred on Tuesday morning near Crestwood Blvd. just north of Southern in Royal Palm Beach.
According to the report, 57-year-old Angel Antonio Lopez lost control of his vehicle around 7:00 a.m. and drove up onto the sidewalk were the students were standing.
Four students were struck and taken to an area hospital for treatment.
One of the students remains in critical condition while two others are in serious condition.
The driver refused medical attention according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s office.
Officials say charges against the driver are pending.
