
Two U.S. Capitol police officers were injured Friday afternoon and a suspect has been taken into custody after a car rammed into the security barrier erected around the Capitol building in Washington, D.C.

The two officers and the suspect have been transported to area hospitals, the extend of their injuries is not known at this time. The suspect reportedly rammed the barrier on the Constitution Avenue side of the Capitol building, exited their vehicle carrying a weapon and was shot by police. The Capitol has been placed on lockdown as police work to secure the area. This is a developing story.
