
Palm Beach County Police are reporting that two local women have been arrested after a missing teen from Syracuse, Indiana was found in their care.
25-year-old Allissa Sands who is said to be the teen’s aunt, and 47-year-old Elizabeth Sands who is said to be the teen’s grandmother, were arrested on Friday.
Authorities say they had been searching for 14-year-old Aaliyah Ramirez since April after she disappeared while walking to her bus stop.
According to the report, authorities began searching in Florida after learning that the teen’s family had ties to the areas.
On Friday authorities got a break in the case when they noticed Ramirez getting into a vehicle near the Lake Worth Beach area.
While Allissa and Elizabeth Sands have been taken into custody for Interference with Custody and false informing. Both women are expected to be transported to Kosciusko County to face those charges.
