A 9-year-old boy and his 13-year-old brother are currently on life-support after their mother shot them.
The incident occurred in the wealthy suburb of Upper Makefield Township, Philadelphia on May 2nd.
Police say they were called to the area around 7:00 a.m. after a man told them that his neighbor tried to shoot him.
According to the report, the man told police that his neighbor, 38-year-old Trinh Nguyen, came over to his home and tried to hand him a box of photos. She then requested that he give the photos to her ex-husband, whom he works for.
When the neighbor looked up, Nguyen was pointing a gun at him. Nguyen then pulled the trigger twice but the gun did not go off.
The neighbor then bearhugged Nguyen and took the gun out of her hands.
At that point, Nguyen apologized and said that the gun was not loaded. She then fled the area in a white minivan.
The neighbor then called the police.
When authorities arrived, they checked the home for Nguyen. Inside they found Nguyen’s two sons shot to death in their beds.
Authorities eventually located Nguyen around 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Washington’s Crossing. She was taken to an area hospital for treatment because she appeared to be intoxicated. She has since been transported to an area jail.
She is being charged with three counts of attempted homicide and one count of possession of an instrument of crime.
While the children are not expected to survive, their bodies will remain hospitalized until their organs can be donated according to a spokesman for the Bucks County district attorney.

Nguyen’s charges are expected to increase once the children are taken off of life-support.
