FL– The Martin County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the deaths of two people who were found floating in a pond at the intersection of Indiantown Avenue and Warfield Boulevard.
Authorities say a driver saw one of the bodies floating in the pond on Monday around 10:15 a.m. and called for help.
When authorities arrived, they discovered a second body.
The Martin County Sheriff’s Office reported that the bodies are of a man and a woman not believed to be from the area, and that they had been in the pond for several days.
Florida Fish and Wildlife used sonar equipment and determined that there was a vehicle inside of the pond.
The vehicle has since been removed from the pond with the help of the MCFR Dive Team and Kauff’s towing.
The situation is now being treated as a traffic homicide.
Authorities say the two victims have been identified and authorities are awaiting notification of next of kin.
This is a developing story and will be undated once more information becomes available.
