Two arrest made in shooting at Boca Town Center Mall

Two people have been arrested for a shooting that occurred outside of the Town Center Mall in Boca Raton on Wednesday.

Authorities arrested 18-year Carlos Peavy Jr., and his 17-year-old accomplice after reportedly shot one person in an attempted robbery.

Officials say the victim was with three friends when Peavy and his accomplice approached them and a  a fight broke out. One of the suspects then pulled out a gun and shot the victim in the leg.

They then stole money that had fallen out of the victim’s pocket and fled the scene.

Police say Peavy and the 17-year-old fled in a silver Toyota Camry but soon crashed the vehicle while being chased by police.

The suspects then bailed from the vehicle and began running on foot.

Authorities were able to bring them into custody after a brief chase.
