UPDATE: FHP says the Florida Turnpike as of 9:00 a.m. Wednesday has reopened but still has a right lane blocked southbound at Lake Worth road for a vehicle fire that is now extinguished.
FHP shut down the Florida Turnpike for a vehicle fire in Lake Worth around 8:00 a.m. Wednesday.
Fire rescue equipment is blocking all lanes southbound turnpike at Lake Worth Road and is extinguishing the fire which involves a fuel spill.
Northbound lanes are also shut down as a precaution.

This is also a construction zone.
Take US 441 and I-95 as an alternate to the turnpike closure for the long haul.
