President Donald Trump appears to have cut ties with Sidney Powell, a key member of his legal team claiming election fraud. The abrupt shake-up came in a terse Sunday-evening statement from the Trump campaign that offered no explanation for Powell’s removal. The effort comes after a tumultuous several days in which Powell made multiple incorrect statements about the voting process, alleged unsupported and complex conspiracy theories, and vowed to “blow up” Georgia with a “biblical” lawsuit.

“Sidney Powell is practicing law on her own,” Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani and campaign lawyer Jenna Ellis said in the statement. “She is not a member of the Trump Legal Team. She is also not a lawyer for the President in his personal capacity.”
Sidney Powell released this statement to @CBSNews and @kristincbrown after the Trump campaign said she's not on the team:

There is some question as to whether Sidney Powell was ever officially part of the Trump election fraud team. Well, on November 14th the President tweeted out the names of the team members including Powell.
I look forward to Mayor Giuliani spearheading the legal effort to defend OUR RIGHT to FREE and FAIR ELECTIONS! Rudy Giuliani, Joseph diGenova, Victoria Toensing, Sidney Powell, and Jenna Ellis, a truly great team, added to our other wonderful lawyers and representatives!
