MIAMI , FL–Former President Donald Trump has been indicted for the mishandling of classified documents in what is the 1st federal indictment of an ex-president in U.S. history.
The indictment decision came down Thursday according to Donald Trump who announced it on his Truth Social platform, where he called it a “witch hunt.”
While The Justice Department did not immediately confirm the indictment publicly, two others who are familiar with the situation confirmed that the former president was notified shortly before making the announcement.
The indictment includes seven criminal counts.
If Donald Trump is convicted, he faces the possibility of prison time.
