Tropical Storm Nicole 4:00 p.m. update

As of 4:00 p.m., Nicole remains a tropical storm with maximum sustained winds of 70 mph. The storm  is moving toward the west near 13 mph and the
National Hurricane Center predicts that it will make a turn toward the west-northwest is expected tonight, followed by a turn toward the
northwest on Thursday.
Nicole is expected to move over Grand Bahama Island in the northwestern Bahamas this afternoon and evening bringing storm surge and strong winds to the area.
It is expected to strengthen into a category 1 hurricane before reaching Florida’s east coast later this evening.
According to the National Hurricane Center, Nicole is around 55 miles away from Freeport in the Bahamas and about 135 miles away from West Palm Beach.
