Tropical Storm Hermine forms off African coast, Depression 9 still a threat

(MIAMI, FLA) —- The National Hurricane Center says Tropical Storm Hermine has formed off the east coast of Africa. The assumption was that tropical depression #9 would become Hermine today, but with the formation of the new storm, #9 will become Tropical Storm Ian.

Currently depression #9 is gathering strength and South Florida is still inside the cone of concern.
