Tiger Woods still in the hunt at The Masters, -1 after first round

Jupiter Island’s Tiger Woods is making his return to golf as he tees off at the 86th edition of The Masters at Augusta National after suffering serious injuries in a car crash back in February 2021.

Tiger shot a 71 finishing the first round in the top ten at one under – three back from the lead.  He sank a 20 foot putt for birdie on the 16th to the delight of the roaring crowd.  In all, Tiger carded three birdies and two bogies and said he’ll finish the day with “lots of ice.”  He will tee off in the afternoon on Friday along with a generation of golfers inspired by him.

The Masters got underway this morning with Tiger teeing off at 11:04 a.m, but weather could cause a delay with rain in the forecast.

Hideki Matsuyama will defend his title after winning last year’s tournament.
