
Fort Lauderdale, FL– Three people were rescued from the water after their boat capsized in Broward County on Saturday.
The incident occurred just 1 mile east of Port Everglades.
According to the U.S CoastGuard’s Twitter account, a good Samaritan noticed the 18-foot vessel and contacted the Coast Guard Sector known as the Miami watchstanders around 6:00 p.m. after they noticed the boat start to take on water.
All three victims were rescued from the water without injury.
“We are grateful to see that everyone aboard the capsized vessel was able to make it back home,” Petty Officer 2nd Class Cody Mehalil of Station Fort Lauderdale said. “We remind all mariners to have their life jackets either on, or in an accessible place aboard your vessel.”
Commercial salvage arrived on the scene to assist with the capsized vessel.
