Monroe, Michigan– An eight-year-old, an 11-year-old, and a 13-year-old are now in police custody after they reportedly used a car to ram through the doors of a store to steal several dirt bikes.
The incident occurred in Monroe, Michigan on July 8th.
Authorities say they were called to the shop around 8:40 p.m. after the store’s alarm went off.
When they arrived, they found the three children attempting to flee from the scene.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office reported that two of the children tried to get away on the stolen dirt bikes, while the third attempted to flee with the vehicle.
All three were captured and taken into custody. Officials say at least one of them had a bb gun in their waistband.
They also reported that they found several items linked to other retail thefts in the vehicle.
The incident is still under investigation.
