The Docket July 9, 2021: There’s always a South Florida connection to international crime. Two South Florida men are charged in the assassination of Haiti’s president.

Also this week, a couple of police-involved take downs of crazy Florida suspects.
Finally, the Sackler family, which owns Purdue Pharmaceuticals, creator of OxyContin which led to the opioid epidemic, just agreed to personally pay $4.3 billion dollars in a settlement.
It is the largest settlement in history against individual defendants.
Several famous South Floridians fell into the opioid addiction trap including the Late Rush Limbaugh. In fact, El Rushbo’s felony doctor shopping charge and complete hearing loss have both been associated with his opioid addition.
