LARGO, FL– A 17-year-old Florida woman is facing child abuse charges after she allegedly gave a toddler a lit marijuana cigarette and let the child inhale the smoke.
Naledi Roberts was taken into custody on Friday after investigators found a video she took of the incident.
According to the report, while watching the child for her 16-year-old friend, Roberts allowed the child to partake in smoking.
The video showed Roberts placing the marijuana cigarette in the child’s mouth and the child inhaling. Roberts then took the cigarette and put it into her own mouth before inhaling herself.
Initially, Roberts told authorities that she smoked marijuana near the child but later confessed when they showed her the video of the incident.
Roberts was arrested and charged with one count of Felony Child Abuse. She was transported to the Pinellas Juvenile Assessment Center without incident.
The situation is still under investigation.
