Authorities in Texas are currently investigating the fatal shooting of a 15-year-old who was out walking her dog.

The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday 15400 Park Manor near Markwood Lane.

According to the report, several people reported hearing several gunshots.

The family said they knew the teen was out walking the dog and became worried so they went to look for her.

They found the teen dead, lying on the side of the road next to a community park. The teen’s mother attempted CPR on the teen but could not keep her alive.

She was pronounced dead at the scene. The dog was later found at the family’s home after running away from the scene.

Authorities are now searching for the suspect.

A dark-colored vehicle was seen driving in the area at the time of the shooting.
