A 15-year-old boy is currently being treated at Broward Health Medical Center after he was shot while standing in the parking lot of an apartment complex.

The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. at the Lauderhill Point apartments at 3116 NW 19 St on Thursday.

Authorities say the teen was standing in the parking lot when someone opened fire and fled the scene.

Several vehicles and buildings were also hit with gunfire.

Officials are currently trying to determine if the teen was the intended target or if he was just at the wrong place at the wrong time.
