GEORGETOWN, TX– A 38-year-old man has been arrested after he broke into his ex-wife’s home and fatally shot her while their daughter was present.
The incident occurred on Dec. 27.
Authorities say they received a call from the couple’s 13-year-old daughter stating that her dad broke into the home and was holding people, hostage.
The teen told authorities that she was woken up after her father Ricardo Quinones, dressed in all black and a ski mask, shined a light in her face.
Ricardo then reportedly dragged the mother out of the bed and told his daughter to stay put.
The victim, 31-year-old Lindsey Quinones, told the daughter to “listen to her dad” but mouthed the words call the police.
The teen called the police and then called her uncle.
According to the report, the dad heard the teen on the phone with her uncle and told the teen to call her uncle back and tell him that she made a mistake.
The teen says that after confronting her, her father began tying her mother up using ropes, so she escaped through a window.
Once outside, the teen was brought to safety by the police.
Around 3:00 a.m. authorities heard two gunshots from inside the home and rushed inside to find Lindsey dead.
Ricardo reportedly escaped from the property before authorities could take him into custody.
He was located a day later and taken into custody without incident after a state trooper recognized his vehicle.
